Beyonce’s brand new album titled The Lion King: The Gift is here and fans absolutely love it but one song, in particular, is getting the most attention – Bey’s collab with her firstborn daughter, Blue Ivy! The superstar got the very talented 7 year old to join her on the track much to everyone’s excitement.
Blue Ivy proved she has the vocal skills to work alongside her famous mother.
The song titled BROWN SKIN GIRL also features WizKid and SAINt JHN but it is safe to say that Blue stole the show from everyone on the track!
At the start of the song, Blue and SAINt JHN harmonize, singing: ‘Brown skin girls, skin just like pearls, best thing in the world, never change it for anybody else.’
As you can probably tell, the whole thing is an homage to all women of color.
At some point during the song, Beyonce sings ‘Your skin is not only dark, it shines and tells your story,’ encouraging women all over the world to be proud of their racial heritage and skin color.
Aside from the opening part where she harmonizes with SAINt JHN, Blue Ivy gets her very own solo as well at the very end when she recites the chorus, closing the track.
Other stars featured on the album are Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Jessie Reyez, Pharell and many more.
The album inspired by the Lion King movie was dropped on the same day the live-action remake premiered.
About the new album, Beyonce said that ‘This is sonic cinema. This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than just find a collection of songs inspired by the film. It’s a mixture of genres and collaboration that is not one sound. It’s influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.’
